Several online workshops on grant writing and the basics of fund development will be held this winter. The first one, Grant Writing 101 and GrantStation Training, is set for January 20.
Lisa Batten, Associate Director for Connectional Ministries for the Michigan Conference, will be leading each of these offerings. If you have questions about any of them, email her at [email protected].
Grant Writing 101 and GrantStation Training
Grants are funding sources for existing or new ministry ideas, facility repairs, or new builds. Knowing where to look and how to write a grant can be challenging and even intimidating. This workshop will give the basics for beginner grant writers or those returning to grant writing after a hiatus. The first hour will focus on the basic steps to writing a grant. Following the break, participants will explore how to search for grants to meet their needs using the GrantStation search tool.
There is a $20 registration fee per person, or $40 per group from one church or organization.
Same content, two time options: Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from noon to 1:30 pm Eastern or from 6 to 7:30 pm Eastern. Register now.
Grant Writing 201
This workshop will provide space for support, peer resourcing, and conversation. The coworking space is for those writing grants for a church or nonprofit. The one-hour session will be shaped by the needs of the participants and will offer support for each step of the grant writing process.
Free, but registration is required.
