The Saganing Native American Center in Standish Township is supported by the Committee on Native American Ministries of the Detroit Conference. They held their 2nd annual Back to School Bonanza on Aug. 29.The Arenac County Independent captured the event in this series of ten photos.
CONAM member Kathy Smith reports that 213 backpacks were given away to students in the Pinconning, Standish/Sterling, Arenac Eastern, Bay City, Hale and Oscoda school districts. The children were also delighted to receive books that had been donated to the effort.
