The Reverend John William Hinkle (Retired Elder), 90, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026.
Born in Springfield, Ohio, on May 18, 1936, John faithfully served as a United Methodist pastor for more than 40 years, dedicating his life to sharing God’s love and serving others.
Following his retirement in 1999, he remained active in his church and enjoyed traveling, trains, and spending time with family.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ginger Hinkle.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Harman (Randy), Linda Morgan, and Carol Hinkle; his stepchildren, Sandra Myers (Barry), Scott Dawe (Christi), and Doug Dawe (Lori); many
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many friends and former parishioners.
John’s life was defined by his faith, his love for his family, and his lifelong commitment to serving God and others.
