Beginning this month, the Michigan Conference is providing several free info and engagement offerings on the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and how it can be used personally, in your workplace, or in your congregation. The first info session is on September 22.
The Michigan Conference’s Conference Leadership Council (CLC) has established four missional priorities, and Building Beloved Community is one of them. The Connectional Ministries Team is committed to living out God’s vision of justice, mercy, and love for all people, and they are providing a series of online info and engagement sessions on a popular tool used for measuring cultural competence. All sessions are free and held online via Zoom.
What is the IDI?

Tuesday, September 23, at noon or 6 pm ET / 11 am or 5 pm CT

Interested in better understanding how you, your team, or your organization experiences cultural similarities and differences in your community or workplace? The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) is a 15-minute online questionnaire that measures an individual’s or group’s orientation toward cultural differences. The resulting IDI report and companion developmental tool (the IDP) enable greater understanding and provide valuable language you might use in personal reflection or community conversations about diversity, inclusion, understanding, and values. If you’d like to learn more about the IDI and how it can be used by you, your workplace, or your congregation, join IDI Qualified Administrators Naomi García and Cora Glass for one of the free info sessions via Zoom. This refresher will focus on what the IDI is, how the tool can be helpful, and how to take next steps. This is a time for the curious and courageous who want to grow in intercultural competence. IDI Qualified Administrators Rev. Cara Weiler and Lisa Batten will lead this online workshop. Register now.
