On January 1, 2017 Wesley Woods, Albright Park and Lake Michigan Camp welcome new leaders.
REV. GEORGE AYOUB

Interim Director, Michigan Area Camping

NOVEMBER 15, 2016 — Today the Michigan Area United Methodist Camping Board announces the hiring of two new Manager/Directors who will begin ministry in January, 2017.

The Board has hired Ryan Culby, from Buckhorn United Methodist Camp in Colorado to help us move forward at Lake Michigan Camp and Albright Park. Ryan has experience building camp ministries through unique programming, marketing, outdoor education, and a strong understanding of business management. His commitment to Christ is the basis of his drive to succeed. Having grown up on a fruit farm in Michigan, he is excited to return to the state to join the Michigan ministry team. He says, “More than ever people need, and thirst for, real connections in a positive, supportive faith environment. If you come to camp, you can be yourself, be surrounded by good, friendly, real people, be able to share in faith, in fellowship, in fun, and not be alone.”

The Board thanks Dennis Dull for the ministry he has shared at Albright Park and Lake Michigan Camp. He brought those sites through a time of change and healing from past hurts.

The Board also welcomes Eric Hoffman as the new Manager/Director of Wesley Woods Camp and Retreat. Eric comes from Illinois, where he served as the Site/Camp Director of Reynoldswood Christian Camp and Retreat Center. Eric brings strengths in new program development, marketing, grant writing, facilities management, outdoor education, and volunteer development. He is excited to “jump right in” and learn about the ministries of Wesley Woods and how he can help go to the next level in making disciples of Jesus Christ.

Eric follows Ken Brown who retired from a long tenure at Wesley Woods in the spring of 2016.

These two new Manager/Directors will arrive at the first of the new year, bringing a commitment to vital Christian hospitality and keen management skills. The Board looks forward to partnering with Ryan and Eric as they offer their strengths to enable vital ministry for Christ.

These men come to serve Christ, the congregations and the families of the Michigan Area.
