Rockford UMC is seeking a Worship/Praise Team Leader to plan and lead music for our weekly contemporary worship service and special services, including Christmas Eve and Good Friday.
This part-time position requires up to 10 hours per week and includes leading the praise team on Sundays, coordinating music, and collaborating with the Worship Design Team to plan meaningful worship experiences.
Our vision is to grow a vibrant contemporary worship ministry—spiritually and in participation—that honors God and leads people into a closer relationship with Christ and one another.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead the congregation in meaningful, Christ-centered worship.
● Teach worship songs that encourage both corporate and personal worship.
● Develop, equip, and nurture the praise team spiritually and musically.
● Coordinate music and collaborate with the Worship Design Team to plan weekly and special worship services.
The Worship/Praise Team Leader will work alongside the Pastor, who leads the Sunday contemporary service. This position reports directly to the Pastor and the Staff-Parish Relations Committee.
Compensation: Pay will be based on the candidate’s experience and the church’s available resources.
