Rev. Kenneth D. McCaw

The Rev. Kenneth D. McCaw, age 85, of Grand Rapids, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Clark on Keller Lake.  He was born in Albany, NY on June 2, 1934.  Ken attended Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.  He retired from Kalamazoo First UMC in 2000, after 42 years in ministry.  He previously served as Kalamazoo District Superintendent and West Michigan Conference Council Director.  Ken also served as pastor at Caledonia/Parmelee, Muskegon Unity/Wolf Lake/Twin Lake/Sitka, Grand Rapids South, and Portage First UMCs.
 
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Ruth and Russell McCaw, and in-laws, Helen Alles Feenstra and Duane Smith.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeanne Smith McCaw; daughters, Mara (Carl) Marsman and Kristin (Owen) Motter; brother, R. Lewis (MaryBeth) McCaw; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Stephen (Barbara) Smith and James Smith; sisters-in-law, Janet Smith (Russ) Fox and Jacquelynn Smith (Dan) VanderLugt.
 
Visitation will be at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Rd SE, Grand Rapids, on Monday, September 9, 4-7 PM.  A memorial service will be held at Grand Rapids First UMC, 227 E. Fulton St., 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Clark Benevolent Fund, Faith Hospice, or Grand Rapids First UMC.
