Miriam J. Taber

June 30, 1924 – April 30, 2023

Wife of Rev. Harold M. Taber, Miriam J. (Crone) Taber died peacefully Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the age of 98 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Miriam grew up near Detroit, completed nurse’s training at Bronson School of Nursing in Kalamazoo, and graduated from Albion College with highest honors in 1949. She served as God led her, supporting her husband in pastoral ministry, teaching children about God, and volunteering wherever she found herself. Many needy children benefited over the years from the mittens and baby blankets she lovingly knitted. She continued to lead Bible studies even after a stroke in 2014 ended her other volunteer activities. She will be greatly missed by many, especially in the Clark Retirement Community where she resided from 2006 on.

She was preceded in death by her husband after 69 years of marriage and by sisters Gladys Osborne and Eleanor Chinn. She is survived by her children Sally Taber (Dean Tousley), Norma Taber, and Paul Harrington-Taber (Kathye), as well as 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Condolences can be sent to Sally Taber, 703 Auburn Ave, Takoma Park, Maryland 20912-5854 or posted on the memorial page at https://www.mjfuneral.com/obituary/Miriam-Taber.

Contributions in Miriam’s memory may be made to the Clark Foundation (1551 Franklin St SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49506), designated for Benevolent Care.
