Mary Y. Jensen

June 28, 1933 – May 2, 2023

Husband of Rev. Wayne D. Jensen, Mary Yvonne Jensen, age 89, of Frankenmuth passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, with her loving family surrounding her at her home.

Yvonne was born June 28, 1933, in Belleville, MI. The daughter of Hilda and Tom James, and later, adoptive father Baxter Bushaw. She graduated from Petoskey High School. She met and then married Wayne D. Jensen on November 24th, 1956. Wayne served as United Methodist minister for many years, making homes in Poseyville and Frankenmuth, MI.

In her younger years, Yvonne was very adventurous traveling to places like Acapulco, then continuing that spirit in married life visiting San Francisco, New Orleans, New York, Minnesota, Florida, North Carolina, Missouri, and Washington D.C. She immensely enjoyed her 20+ years of employment at Bronner’s.

Yvonne is survived by her four children: Thomas (Susan) Jensen of DeWitt MI, Randall (Gloria) Jensen of Rochester MN, Daryl (Denise) Jensen of Frankenmuth MI, and Les (Paula) Jensen of Pickney MI. Grandchildren, Michelle (Isaiah) Adams, Amy (Eric) Coombs, Matthew (Kelly) Jensen, Christina (Shawn) Sullivan, Jacob Jensen, Lindsey (Zachary) Eickhoff, Jill (Tyler) Kirkpatrick, Tyler Jensen, Audra Jensen, Nolan Jensen. Yvonne was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brother-in-law and friend, Donald Jensen.

Yvonne was predeceased by her loving husband, Wayne; sister Shirley and brother-in-law Bob Reed; her sister Sandra Bourdeau and sister-in-law Virginia Jensen, and great-grandson Brady Kirkpatrick.

A funeral service took place on Saturday, May 13, at Frankenmuth United Methodist Church with Rev. Ryan Wenburg officiating. Yvonne’s family received visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Frankenmuth United Methodist Church or Frankenmuth Parks-Friends of the Parks.

Arrangements are in the care of Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth.
