Wife of Rev. Walter R. Damberg, Marion E. Damberg, age 100, passed away on August 22, 2025, at Trinity Health, Ann Arbor Hospital, at 11:28pm. In addition to her passing, she is preceded by her husband: Walter; and a son: James.
Marion Elizabeth Roberts was born on December 3, 1924, in Iron River, Michigan. She was one of six children born from the union of Richard and Emily Roberts. She was a 1942 graduate of Iron River High School. She married Walter R. Damberg on May 18, 1945, in Iron River. The happy couple lived in Iron River until Walter went into the ministry in 1956. They served the Painesdale, Macon, Dundee, Whitmore Lake, Manchester, and West Branch United Methodist churches. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord. She is currently a member of the Dundee United Methodist Church.
After retiring Walter and Marion moved to Ocala, Florida, and lived there for several years before moving back to Dundee to be close to family. They had several travel trailers and enjoyed camping throughout their lives together.
Marion enjoyed and was very good at sewing, knitting, crocheting, and in her later years learned how to quilt. She loved music and taught herself how to play the piano. In her early years she played the violin and the alto horn.
To cherish her memory, she leaves: her daughter: Janet (Kenneth) Seegert of Dundee; her daughter-in-law Nancy Damberg of Lake Worth, Florida; five grandchildren and two step granddaughters; many great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Friends may gather Thursday August 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Dundee United Methodist Church; 65 Franklin Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131. A Celebration of Marion’s life will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sean LaGuire officiating. A procession to Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee for burial will immediately follow. Memorials may be made to the Dundee United Methodist Church, Dundee Michigan.
