Lynn W. Wagner

November 11, 1939 – May 24, 2025

Rev. Lynn W. Wagner, 85, of Chelsea, passed away on May 24, 2025. Rev. Wagner was born on November 11, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, the eldest son of L.D. and Vida (Davie) Wagner. On November 29, 1969, he married the love of his life, Patricia (Couchman) Wagner. He graduated from Western Michigan University and received his Master of Divinity and Master of Christian Education from Garrett Theological Seminary. On June 21, 1970, he was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church, and for nearly 40 years, he faithfully served at various churches throughout the West Michigan area, including Evart, Dowling, Nashville, Middleville, Battle Creek, and Lyons-Muir.

Rev. Lynn was known for his kindness, compassion, and storytelling. He demonstrated his faith through acts of service and his gracious nature towards others. He loved camping trips, and touring Alaska; he was also an avid artist in both watercolor and photography. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (David) Black; his three granddaughters, Phiona, Maizie, and Kenzy; his brother, Davie (Elaine) Wagner; his sister, Joy (Roger) Rossman; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pat.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Chelsea First United Methodist Church, 128 Park St., Chelsea, MI 48118. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm.
