The Michigan Conference of The United Methodist Church marks, with both sadness and a confident hope in resurrection through Jesus Christ, the passing of Rev. Jane Blanchard Shapley, retired Elder, on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the age of 92. She was a resident of Malahat, British Colombia, Canada. Allen E. Shapley, Jane’s spouse, proceeded her in death.
We invite the Michigan Conference to join in prayer for the Shapley family during this time of transition, giving thanks for Jane’s years of faithful service to the Connection.
