Grovenor “Kip” Grimes
Grovenor “Kip” Grimes, the surviving spouse of Rev. Lynn E. Grimes, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Kip served alongside Lynn in her ministry as Christian Education and Youth Director at the Okemos Community Church for many years prior to her ordination and then as she served as the Pastor of the Grand Ledge: First and Holt UMC’s as well as the Central District Superintendent.
Kip is survived by his spouse Becky, who he married in 2015, and sons Christopher and Matthew and their families, including three grandchildren. Kip was retired from the State of Michigan Department of Transportation.
A memorial service celebrating Kip’s life will be held at the Holt United Methodist Church on Friday, January 11th at 11:00 a.m., preceded by a visitation at 10:00 a.m.
