Rev. Gordon Ackerman of Wixom, a retired elder of the Detroit Conference who served at Walled Lake, Clawson, Tecumseh, and Frankenmuth before retiring in 2001, died at age 90.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Anton and Mildred Irene; his wife Marilyn Joyce Ackerman; and his daughter Cheryl Schlosser (late Scott). He is survived by: his children, Kim VanErp (Michael) and Lisa Ackerman; and his grandchildren, Ariel, Shelbie, and Dakota.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 8th, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Walled Lake United Methodist Church, 313 E Northport St, Walled Lake, MI 48390. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 8th, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location.
