Wife of Retired Elder Rev. Arthur V. Norris, Evelyn Annette Norris from Hemlock, Michigan, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Mid-Michigan Health Center, Midland. Age 82 years.
The daughter of the late Martha (Tippey), Anson L. Richards and her stepfather, Howard Neff was born January 16, 1941 in Marion, Indiana. She attended Taylor University. She married Rev. Arthur Norris, June 17, 1961. Her husband of 62 years survives her. Mr. and Mrs. Norris moved to Dayton, Ohio where she worked in the Administration offices of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. Evelyn served as Pastor’s wife, with Rev. Norris in his churches. She was always loving, outgoing and enjoying the people of the church. She fought a courageous battle with Type One Diabetes for 61 years. She enjoyed reading and music.
Surviving are her husband, Arthur, and a son and daughter, Arthur Allen Norris; Jennifer Nanette Jackson and her husband, Carlos; two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Chanelle Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Heaven; a sister, Susan Lee (Neff); several other relatives. She was predeceased by a son, Dennis Howard Norris and a brother, Phillip Neff.
The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Four Points Church, Hemlock United Methodist Campus. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with burial in Richland Twp. Cemetery. Friends may visit with family at the church from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral service.
