Bruce R. McCumons

July 21, 1955 – April 19, 2023

Pastor Bruce R. McCumons age 67 of Peck died April 19, 2023. He was born in Marlette to James and Beverly McCumons. Bruce graduated from Brown City High School Class of 1973. He married Marcia Sharrard on September 25, 2021.

Bruce retired from the Tubbs Brothers Dealership after 20 years. He was also an ordained minister and was the pastor of the Omard and Buel Churches. Bruce served on the Sanilac Fair Board for 15 years.  He also was the statistician for the Peck football team for many years.  He was a founding member of the men’s singing group “The Last Resort” and had been a group leader for the Flynn Hustlers 4-H club.  Most important to Bruce was supporting his grandchildren in any and all of their activities.

Bruce is survived by his wife Marcia Sharrard, children Michelle (Jay) Stull, Scott (Gabrielle) McCumons, Jessica (Steve) Sweet, Tiffany Gillam with Jason Hardman, Jeremy (Jody) Sharrard and Jill (John) Welter.  Also surviving are grandchildren Adriana, Jenna, Brennan, Dylan, Madison, Joseph, Emilee, Lane, Evan, Will, Ethan, Dan, Logan and Katie.  Surviving siblings include Gene McCumons, Brian (Betty) McCumons, Chuck McCumons and Sandra (Luke) Engler along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son Josh, his wife Pamela and his parents Jim and Beverly.

A viewing and visitation will be Friday, April 21, 2023 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Brown City Missionary Church.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023 in the Brown City Missionary Church with Pastor Pat Robbins officiating.

Cremation will take place following the service.

Memorials may be made to the Peck Athletic Department or the Omard or Buel Churches.
