KEEP DOING JUSTICE
The Board of Justice is answering the calls for the return of Keep Making Peace. We hope to inspire attendees to work as justice seekers to follow our Christian callings. Join us on February 21, 2026 from 9 am to 4 pm.
Presenters
Joerg Rieger is Distinguished Professor of Theology, Cal Turner Chancellor’s Chair in Wesleyan Studies, and Director of the Wendland-Cook Program in Religion and Justice at Vanderbilt University. He is author and editor of 27 books, including Theology in the Capitalocene: Ecology, Identity, Class, and Solidarity (2022), and Jesus vs. Caesar: For People Tired of Serving the Wrong God (2018). Rieger is closely cooperating with liberation movements and theologies all over the world, lecturing on all continents except Antarctica. His works have been translated into 8 languages.

WHAT
Keep Doing Justice is a one-day event hosted by the Michigan Conference Board of Justice. The goal is to empower Michigan United Methodists to be better participants in seeking justice in our world. This will be achieved through worship, speakers, and workshops showcasing justice-focused ministries in the Michigan Area UMC.
WHO
This event is for all Methodists in Michigan including former attendees of Keep Making Peace.
WHEN
Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET.
COST
Pay What You Can: Keep Doing Justice is being offered on a sliding scale. A fee of $30 per person is recommended, and includes refreshments, lunch and materials. Additional funds will be used to seed future justice events.
WHERE
This event will be hosted at University United Methodist Church, 1120 S. Harrison Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823. If you are unable to attend in person, we will have a Zoom link for watching our worship and keynote speaker and select workshops.
