Church Vibrancy, works with congregations who want to see their faith communities grow by reaching out to the communities around them.
The Michigan Conference Board of Vibrancy believe that church is not about surviving, it’s about thriving!

Paragraph 630 of the United Methodist Discipline says:
Throughout the years, there will be times in the congregation’s life when redefinition, redevelopment, or rebirth are necessary to continue growing a vibrant, thriving, spiritually mature community of faith.
Each lifecycle phase is determined by what primarily guides and directs the congregation’s ministry and life together. The capitalized and bold letters on the following graphic indicate the dominant questions the congregation is asking and influence all decisions they make.

Wherever on the lifecycle your congregation is, we are here to support you taking the next faithful step to making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!
For additional information and/or a conversation around how to move forward, please connect with your pastor (so they are not surprised when we reach out to them) and send us an email.
VIBRANCY RESOURCES AND PROGRAMS
Coaching
We have skilled Certified Facilitators and Coaches for each of our Vibrancy initiatives who can help your church discover and live out the full potential God has for your mission field.

Local Church Self Assessment
An opportunity for congregations to undertake an assessment process that studies their potential and viability to continue in ministry. Congregations hold limited energy and momentum to be and grow disciples. Status quo turns congregation to dust and the future requires complete transformation and resurrection from the ashes. Can they move beyond the status quo to a future that will require complete transformation?

MissionInsite
Get to know your community. One way to study and find out the kinds of people around you is to use the demographic tool, MissionInsite. The Michigan Conference provides this tool to every church at no cost. Register for MissionInsite and explore the demographic information.

Church Unique
An opportunity for congregations to take a deep dive envisioning their future. This initiative is for congregations who have a desire to clarify their vision and their life energy.
The value of the Vision is directly related to how well your congregation is living the vision. When collaborating as a team on the Vision, churches adhere to the “five C’s” as the measure of success. CLEAR, CONCISE, COMPELLING, CATALYTIC, AND CONTEXTUAL. If these five attributes are fused within the Vision, amazing energy is released. People understand the vision because it is broken down into meaningful bite-sized chunks.

Discover your church's relevancy
An opportunity for congregations to undertake an assessment process to study their potential and grow in ministry. Congregations determine their energy and momentum to be and grow disciples. With the help of trained facilitators.

A growing number of congregations across the Michigan Conference are bidding “goodbye” to committee-heavy church structures and saying “hello” to a more simplified structure. Numerous churches are making the decision to move to this streamlined “Simplified Accountable Structure” as outlined in the book Mission Possible by Kay Kotan & Blake Bradford.
This governance structure streamlines congregational leadership for increased growth and vitality. The structural shift places a priority on mission, eliminating the need for multiple administrative meetings. Congregations may begin this process at any time of the year!
