Are you ready?

April is National Financial Capability Month. Do you feel financially capable? Are you ready, financially, for the future?

One way to begin to answer that question is to make sure that your credit report is accurate. You can access free copies of your credit reports from all three credit reporting agencies at www.annualcreditreport.com It used to be that one could request these once a year, but in our digital age, one can usually access them more frequently. Make sure they’re correct and know your credit score, then do some research on how you can improve your credit rating.

Who can help educate you on improving your credit rating? United Methodist clergy have access to free financial services with EY Financial Services. You can call EY directly at 1-800-360-2539 business days from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. They can talk with you about budgeting, managing credit cards and other debt, setting goals for retirement savings, managing investment decisions, comparing before-tax, Roth and/or after-tax retirement plan contributions, making retirement distribution decisions, evaluating insurance needs and options, buying a home or car, financing a college education, estate planning, tax planning and more.

You can also visit wespath.eynavigate.com and access calculators, webinars, and other educational content.

How financially capable are you? The answer may not be entirely clear right now, but the tools to make that answer much more clear are available to you.
