Picture this… On the Wednesday before Christmas at 9:30 AM, the Benefits 3Js gather for their weekly staff Zoom meeting. (No, we don’t have The Golden Girls cheesecake.)
Suddenly, the screen goes dark, and the Ghost of Benefits Past appears.
The computer screens begin showing the hundreds and hundreds of emails and phone calls the office has managed over the years, alongside all the cost-saving methods we’ve implemented. The switch to electronic billing and the promotion of our health and wellness programs fly by. We watched in amazement at all the past work that had been done to ensure a secure future for our participants.
With a woosh and a swoosh, the Ghost of Benefits Past morphs into the Ghost of Benefits Present.
The computer screens now highlight all the exciting changes from this year: the updates to the Compass retirement program, streamlined billing processes, the informative “Coffee and Donuts” meetings held by Joel and his crew for current retirees and surviving spouses, and the joyful dance breaks and wellness opportunities we enjoyed at the Annual Conference. We are so happy to see the positive changes this year has brought and look forward to even more.
With a woosh and a swoosh, the Ghost of Benefits Present transforms into the Ghost of Benefits Future.
With a quick flick of the screen, the Zoom meeting room is replaced with upcoming opportunities: new clergy grant programs, Pre-Retirement Seminars in full swing, and continued, stable health care for our active and retired participants.
The Benefits Ghosts reminded us of Jeremiah 29:11, “God has a plan to give you hope and a future.” The Benefits Office was, is, and continues to be here for you!
