Help a homeowner touched by flood

The NW Detroit Flood Relief Project is looking for “muck out” teams able to spend a week in Detroit.

Project Director Becky Wilson reports that Brethren Disaster Ministries is currently doing great work on rebuilds and is also assisting with muck outs. But more helping hands are needed.

About a dozen homes are on the list for clean-up, ranging in size from small to large jobs. In the spring of 2016 a UMC team from Columbus, OH completed eight muck-outs in the five days they were in the city.

Skilled team leaders are also sought for work into the fall. Becky explains that more team leaders means the opening of more projects week by week. Food and lodging are provided for leaders able to commit to one or two weeks of supervisory work.
