SUMMARY:IDI Workshop: IDP Together
DESCRIPTION:Join a supportive\, community-based walk through of your Intercultural Development Plan (IDP). Over a span of six months\, participants will be guided in thought\, reflection\, and action as they take steps to complete their IDP. Each participant will be given the space and support needed to traverse the intense landscape of intercultural development. As we deepen our self-awareness and increase our ability to relate to one another\, we sow seeds of meaningful connection. \nIDP Together is designed for those who have taken the Intercultural Development Inventory within the last two years and are ready to dive into their IDP. All are welcome. Co-facilitated by Rev. Alice Fleming Townley and Charity Ben. Every fourth Monday from noon to 1 pm\, January 26 – June 22. \nRegister Now! \n“We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers\, as sympathetic threads\, our actions run as causes\, and they come back to us as effects.” ~ Herman Melville \nIf you would like to take the Intercultural Develpment Inventory\, please contact: lbatten@michiganumc.org

SUMMARY:Making Meaning Together Informational Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Join the growing community of partner churches already engaged in the work of creating meaningful worship experiences for children. \nAre you passionate about making worship more engaging\, meaningful\, and welcoming for children? Do you want to create a space where children not only participate in worship but also grow in their faith through intentional prayer practices? If so\, the Making Meaning Together (MMT) initiative is an opportunity you won’t want to miss. \nChildren’s voices\, prayers\, and presence enrich our worship communities in profound ways. As a church leader\, pastor\, or layperson\, you can help shape and create spaces where children lead and experience the beauty of faith in action. \nChurches selected through the application process will receive seed money to help implement creative and intentional ways to include children in worship. \nJoin us for an informational gathering to learn more and ask questions! \nWednesday\, April 29 – 12 pm Central / 1 pm Eastern\nRegister now \nMonday\, May 4 – 6 pm Central / 7 pm Eastern\nRegister now \nStep 1 of the application opens May 1\, and the application window closes October 12. \nVisit makingmeaningtogether.org to find out more\, or email questions to Laura Schwarcz\, MMT project coordinator\, at lschwarcz@riotexas.org.
