GR Metro Ministry “Celebration of 65 Years in Ministry”
November 11, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Please join Grand Rapids Metro Ministry to celebrate 65 years of urban ministry on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 3 p.m. Metro Ministry will unite at the end of 2018 with the missions ministry of the new Midwest District, and will cease to exist as a separate entity. Since 1954, Metro Ministry has started new congregations and begun creative ministries to help people in need. GRUMP and GRASP were two of those ministries. Today, Metro Ministry oversees Circles to end the cycle of poverty, Native American Elders Program, and ReadGR which distributes free books in area elementary schools, uniting local congregations with nearby schools. At the November 11 celebration, we will hear in person or writing from persons who have served as Metro directors and from Grand Rapids District Superintendents from the last 35 years. The celebration will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4301 Ambrose NE. If you have questions or historical information for the celebration, please contact GR Metro Ministry Chair John Ross Thompson at email@example.com.
