East Winds District – Listening Session

May 22, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT

Invitation to East Winds District Listening Session

Updates and projections for United Methodists and Global Methodists

The recent announcements that General Conference has been postponed until 2024 and the launch of the Global Methodist Church on May 1, 2022, has some United Methodists wondering about the future of the denomination and their local church. There are also some local churches have indicated they want to enter a discernment a process.

While it feels life is quickly changing for United Methodists, raising questions and concerns among us, Bishop Bard is encouraging a calm and thoughtful reflection on our individual core values and direction for mission and ministry. It is important to note there is no set timeline or requirement to vote on this matter. It is at the discretion of each local United Methodist Church to determine if they want to explore this option.

The East Winds District is planning a listening session to provide an update and answer your questions.
