Mary Catherine Hinds is a mom sending her children back to school. She also works for Church World Service.
Mary Catherine reminds us that many parents across the U.S. celebrate back-to-school because it means nutritious meals for their kids. She also notes that back-to-school is a permanent solution for hunger and malnutrition for families around the globe.
She says, “After the dust settles on this frantic first week of school, my family and I will start to do something to help the other mothers and fathers out there for whom school means life. We will set up a CROP Hunger Walk team for our church and start recruiting walkers and raising funds for our annual CROP Hunger Walk.”
Dozens of communities, from Albion to Ypsilanti, will also be sponsoring CROP Hunger Walks this fall. Click here for the CROP Walk nearest you. Then plan to hike against hunger.
