Area transfers campground deeds

Crystal Springs Camp, located near Dowagiac, Michigan, is one of nine camp properties owned by Michigan Area Camp and Retreat Ministries.

The nine United Methodist campgrounds in Michigan are now owned by Michigan Area Camping.

As prescribed by previous action of the Annual Conferences, the Trustees of Michigan’s conferences have signed over deeds to United Methodist camps. 

Area Treasurer David Dobbs’ signature completed this next step in helping the Michigan Area United Methodist Camping ministries grow stronger and prepare for a new adventure in ministry.

“The future is exciting, and those involved in the ministries of camping are thankful for the support of the leadership of our Annual Conferences, churches, and the people called United Methodist in Michigan,” said George Ayoub, interim Executive Director of camping ministries.  “With your continued support, we will flourish and be able to make disciples of Jesus Christ, for the transformation of the world.”
