There has been great interest in hosting focus meals at previous annual conferences at Grand Traverse Resort, reducing general seating space. The 2020 schedule will include more general seating space, limiting the number of focus meal requests that can be honored.
Focus meals are intended to enhance the conference theme and equip local congregations. Requests which include a general interest topic, which equips the local church, and aligns with the theme, Vibrant Congregations, are most apt to receive a meal space.
Plan to have topic specific meetings, i.e. board meetings, separate from meal times.
Meeting spaces will not be assigned a room for groups under 30. The group convener will receive a list of those who have signed up for this meal, and will be up to the convener to hold table space in general seating sections. If you traditionally have fewer than 30 in attendance, please plan your own gathering in general seating space.
Please submit your completed request ONLY ONCE. Include flyer, speaker, topic, and equipment needs with your initial application. Your information is posted in the registration form, website, eblasts, and social media, making changes difficult. Space is not granted on first-come, first-served basis, so please be thorough with your initial application.
The deadline to request is focus meal is Monday, January 6, 2020. You will be notified by the end of January if your request can be granted.
